About PIGS Animal Sanctuary
FOUNDED IN 1992, PIGS, A SANCTUARY is a place of refuge for abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted animals. We specialize in the care of potbellied pigs and farm pigs, but shelter other farm and domestic animals as well. The Sanctuary currently provides a safe haven for approximately 400 animals, including potbellied pigs, farm pigs, horses, cats, dogs, goats and many other species
Typically, animals residing at the Sanctuary have complicated medical and/or emotional needs, a history of abuse and/or neglect, diseases or ailments related to factory farming or genetic engineering and are often considered unadoptable. The Sanctuary serves as a home of last resort for these animals and has played a crucial role in the placement of countless others.
About Juliana Finch
Juliana Finch “sounds the way a good bourbon tastes.” A Georgia-based singer/songwriter with strong Americana roots, Juliana earns her spot in a long tradition of storytelling songwriters with a sultry, soothing voice and carefully crafted lyrics.
Raised in the South, in an Italian-American family, listening to Irish music, Juliana developed a songwriting style that reflects a uniquely American cocktail. Often compared to songwriters like Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Natalie Merchant, she would fit in well with the original Lilith Fair crowd.
Above all, her music is about connection and sharing stories. She believes everyone has a story to tell and tries to convey that through her lyrics.
She loves playing music festivals and house concerts because of the strong sense of community and joy fostered there.
Juliana has been featured at the Bele Chere Festival in Asheville, North Carolina, Ladyfest South, The Atlantis Music Conference, and was selected for the prestigious Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase in 2008.
She has played songwriter showcases at such iconic venues as Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and been featured several years in a row at 99x’s Unplugged In The Park Concert Series. She recently opened for Shawn Mullins at a sold out show in Atlanta.
At the moment, Juliana is working on her 3rd album, to be released this Winter, and is working on putting together a series of writing workshops for “average folks” who want to learn about the songwriting process. She is a member of the Folk Alliance and the Nashville Songwriters Association.
She’s never met a pie she didn’t like.
